The HP Barcelona campus is the worldwide headquarters for HP's 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing (HPAM) business, hosting one of the largest R&D hubs outside the United States. We are seeking a graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D hardware team to support the development, testing, and industrialization of next?generation digital manufacturing systems.Job SummaryThis role is responsible for designing portions of engineering solutions and collaborating with internal and outsourced development partners. The position involves implementing and validating test plans, conducting basic feasibility studies, and evaluating device or component failures. The engineer will apply a foundational understanding of mechanical engineering principles, theories, and concepts to assignments of limited scope while utilizing modern digital and AI?assisted workflows.Key ResponsibilitiesComponent Design: Design portions of engineering solutions for mechanical hardware, thermal systems, and enclosures using 3D CAD tools, gradually incorporating AI?assisted tools.Testing & Validation: Execute established test plans for existing designs, including validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, safety, and thermal performance.Data Automation: Collect and analyze empirical data from test setups, utilizing basic scripting (mainly Python) and AI coding assistants to automate routine data collection and process test logs.Failure Analysis: Evaluate physical or operational failures of components and subsystems to determine the root cause, leveraging internal databases and AI search tools to reference historical engineering data.Prototyping: Assist in building, testing, and refining early?stage prototypes that integrate mechanical, electrical, and fluidic components.Team Collaboration: Participate as an active member of a multi?disciplinary project team, providing objective information, analysis, and data?driven recommendations to support team objectives.Education & Experience RequiredBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, graduated within the last 12 months. No previous experience is required, but internships in a related field will be a plus.Technical Competencies3D CAD & Modeling: Solid foundational knowledge of PTC Creo, SolidWorks, or equivalent 3D modeling tools.Manufacturing Processes: Basic understanding of design parameters for sheet metal, injection moulding, traditional machining, alongside an introduction to Design for Additive Manufacturing / 3d Printing.Thermal & Fluid Fundamentals: Clear understanding of heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and the thermal properties of engineering materials.Simulation & Engineering Tools: Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) or computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software (e.G., Ansys) for basic design validation.AI & Data Literacy: Practical experience using AI productivity tools, LLMs for technical document synthesis, and AI?assisted coding to accelerate basic data analysis or scripting tasks.Cross?Org SkillsLearning Agility: Ability to quickly assimilate new engineering methodologies, corporate standards, and digital workflows.Problem Solving: Strong analytical approach to diagnosing physical failures or mechanical interferences.Communication: Professional proficiency in written and verbal English; ability to present technical data clearly to peers. What We OfferA truly international experience: Work in a global organization with colleagues from 60+ nationalities, collaborating across cultures and geographies.Continuous growth & career development: Multiple internal mobility and career opportunities, supported by HP's learning platform to keep growing your skills.Competitive benefits package, including: Hybrid work model (home office / office), depending on the role/functions; Health & Life insurance; Ticket Restaurant Vouchers or lunch at reduced prices at our canteen; Flexible working hours to support work-life balance; HP Flex Program: Kindergarten vouchers & Transport Card; Exclusive HP products offers and discounts for employees, friends, and family; Inclusion & belonging at the core; Participation in volunteering initiatives or join our annual HP Charity Day held onsite; Access to sports centre; Onsite medical services; Creativity & innovation workshops.Easy commuting: Free parking available or excellent access via nearby train services.Women Network initiatives: Networking events, STEM promotion, business acumen talks, work?life balance sessions, and future?skills development.Location: Les, Kingdom Of Spain, ESEqual Opportunity Employer (EEO) StatementHP, Inc. provides equal employment opportunity to all employees and prospective employees, without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, sexual orientation, age, disability, or status as a protected veteran, marital status, familial status, physical or mental disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic predisposition or carrier status, uniformed service status, political affiliation or any other characteristic protected by applicable national, federal, state, and local law(s).
