Job description

The VP, Chief Data & Analytics Officer will lead the design and development of next-generation data platforms and analytical capabilities to enable data-driven insights and decision-making across Deckers Brands. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining a centralized data ecosystem, delivering decision-ready data, and building machine learning and AI analytics to support business growth.

Your Impact

  • Lead the development and implementation of advanced analytical capabilities using internal and external data sources to drive business growth.
  • Establish a data operating model with clear roles, responsibilities, and decision-making rights across the enterprise.
  • Execute strategic value projects across business units, including Brands, Digital Marketing, Supply Chain, and FP&A.
  • Champion a data-driven culture and drive long-term business value through best-in-class analytics.
  • Design and execute data pipelines optimizing performance, accuracy, availability, reliability, and security.
  • Establish data governance and partner with teams to create necessary data taxonomy.
  • Build and maintain data catalog and services, supporting ML/AI analytics.
  • Lead a team responsible for developing, executing, and operating data analytics, business intelligence, and ML/AI technologies.
  • Manage priorities across multiple stakeholders and lead large-scale data projects in a matrixed organization.
  • Identify opportunities to drive strategic consumer value and develop implementation roadmaps.
  • Promote an environment that attracts world-class talent and fosters growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive data engineering/analytics experience and leadership roles.
  • Proven ability to lead and scale digital and data technologies in a fast-paced, multi-billion organization.
  • Experience modernizing technology, establishing data lakes/meshes, and building scalable data services.
  • Deep understanding of data in a global, matrixed organization with international experience.
  • Hands-on leader with a global mindset and strong organizational capability-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive business results leveraging data-based insights.
  • Experience evangelizing data and analytics capabilities to technical and non-technical leadership.
  • Successful track record of building and leading data & analytics functions within retail or similar industries.
  • Effective recruiter, manager, coach, and developer of high-performing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strategic visionary with a growth mindset, strong EQ, and inclusive stakeholder management.
  • Business acumen, tenacity, and architect of best practice ethos.
  • Empathetic, humble, agile, and cultivates a culture of psychological safety, inclusion, and belonging.
