Principal Software Engineer, Endpoint AI Security

HP is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and security of AI-enabled endpoint security solutions. This is a senior technical leadership role responsible for building secure, scalable software while driving innovation in endpoint protection, security automation, behavioral detection, and AI-powered security capabilities. • DrivedevelopmentofAI-enabledsecuritycapabilities,includingbehavioralanalytics,anomalydetection,automation,andsecuritycopilots.

• Establishsecuredevelopmentpractices,guardrails,monitoring,accesscontrols,andvalidationprocessesforAI-poweredfeatures.
• PartnercloselywithProductManagement,Security,Privacy,AI/ML,andEngineeringteamstodeliversecure,high-qualitysolutions.
• DefineandleadAIsecuritytesting,includingadversarialtesting,prompt-injectiontesting,abuse-casetesting,andsecurityvalidation.
• Mentorengineers,conductdesignandcodereviews,andchampionengineeringexcellenceandDevSecOpsbestpractices.
• EvaluateemergingtechnologiesanddriveinnovationacrossendpointsecurityandAIinitiatives.

• Bachelor'sorMaster'sdegreeinComputerScience,SoftwareEngineering,orrelatedfield.
• 10+yearsofsoftwareengineeringexperiencedeliveringcomplexsoftwareproductsorplatforms.
• Strongexpertiseinsoftwarearchitecture,distributedsystems,scalability,reliability,andsecuresoftwaredesign.
• DeepLinuxdevelopmentexperience,includingsystemservices,networking,performance-sensitiveapplications,andendpointsecuritysolutions.
• Strongprogrammingskills,particularlyin C++ ,withexperiencein Python , C# ,Java,and/orJavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experiencewithcloudplatforms(Azureand/orAWS),CI/CD,Docker,Kubernetes,andmodernDevOpspractices.
• Knowledgeofendpointsecurityprinciples,authentication,authorization,encryption,threatmodeling,andsecurecoding.
• FamiliaritywithAIsecurityconceptssuchaspromptinjection,adversarialattacks,modelprotection,andsecureAIintegration.
• Strongcommunication,leadership,problem-solving,andmentoringcapabilities., * ExperiencewithEDR,XDR,anti-malware,behavioraldetection,endpointmonitoring,orsecurityautomationproducts.
• ExperienceintegratingAI/MLorgenerativeAIintoproductionsoftware.
• KnowledgeofGo,Rust,Django,.NETMAUI,React,Next.js,orVue.

The pay range for this role is $147,050 to $230,850 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only).
