Job description

Be a part of a team that's ensuring Dell Technologies' product integrity and customer satisfaction. Our IT Software Engineer team turns business requirements into technology solutions by designing, coding and testing/debugging applications, as well as documenting procedures for use and constantly seeking quality improvements., As a Senior Principal Software Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring that ServiceNow serves as the enterprise system of record for technology assets, software assets, SaaS products, business applications, technical services, digital products, and related operational data.

The role combines expertise in ServiceNow data architecture, CSDM, CMDB, IT Asset Management, Software Asset Management, Service Portfolio, and enterprise process modeling to establish a trusted enterprise registry that supports operations, architecture, governance, security, and digital product management.

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Principal ServiceNow Information Architect to design, govern, and continuously improve the enterprise information model represented within ServiceNow.

Responsibilities

You will:

  • Own and evolve the enterprise information model within ServiceNow, ensuring alignment across CSDM, CMDB, ITAM, SAM, SPM, Service Portfolio, and related data domains
  • Lead governance of enterprise asset and software registries, defining taxonomy, ownership, lifecycle management, metadata standards, and authoritative data sources
  • Establish and maintain CMDB and CSDM standards, including service modeling, CI relationships, data quality, lifecycle governance, and CMDB health
  • Define and govern integrations across Discovery, Service Graph, ITAM, SAM, Cloud, ERP, HR, Security, Identity, Procurement, and DevOps platforms to ensure data consistency and integrity
  • Drive enterprise data governance through standards for metadata, stewardship, reporting semantics, reference data, lifecycle management, and information architecture

Requirements

  • 12+ years of related experience in overall IT, including at least 8+ years focused on ServiceNow CMDB, CSDM, ITAM, SAM, Discovery, Service Mapping, or enterprise information architecture
  • Deep expertise in CSDM, CMDB, Service Graph, IRE, and CMDB Health, with a strong understanding of ServiceNow data governance and information architecture
  • Proven experience designing enterprise information models across assets, software, applications, services, and technology products
  • Strong knowledge of IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) data models and best practices
  • Experienced in integrating enterprise systems with ServiceNow while ensuring data consistency, semantic alignment, and effective business analysis

Desirable Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with ServiceNow architecture, asset and service management, enterprise integrations, AI-assisted development, and relevant ServiceNow certifications
