This role leads software engineering teams responsible for developing high-performance, enterprise-grade Set Top Box and Android TV applications. The position addresses complex architectural challenges, bridges onshore and offshore delivery models, and optimizes systems within embedded environments. Success relies on modernizing the software development lifecycle through agile practices, continuous integration, and AI-driven methodologies to maintain platform reliability and scalability.
What Success Looks Like (Objectives)
- Build and direct high-performing software development teams to deliver scalable enterprise solutions across Linux and Android OS platforms.
- Drive end-to-end technical execution and architectural decisions for complex Set Top Box software systems from planning to deployment.
- Integrate AI-driven SDLC methodologies and CI/CD pipelines to elevate code quality, automation, and delivery efficiency.
- Establish measurable engineering metrics and agile frameworks to ensure predictable release cycles and align team outcomes with business objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders in design, product, QA, and executive management to translate functional requirements into reliable system architectures.
Requirements
- Proven engineering leadership experience directing multi-functional software teams in large-scale embedded environments.
- Deep technical expertise in Set Top Box architecture, Linux/Android OS, video streaming, and networking fundamentals.
- Strong proficiency in designing microservices, RESTful integration services, and scalable design patterns.
- AI Application fluency to evaluate and incorporate modern AI frameworks and development tools into team workflows.
- Advanced capabilities in stakeholder management, strategic problem solving, and technical mentorship across distributed onshore and offshore teams.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience with front-end UI frameworks such as QT or React.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and API management platforms such as APIGEE Edge., * Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum Experience: 10+ years of total software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing software application development teams
- Required Technical Skills:
- Embedded software engineering with Linux and Android OS platforms
- Set Top Box software development and architecture
- REST-based services, microservices, and integration design
- Agile development methodologies, CI/CD practices, and DevOps tools
