Job description
- Design, development, and deployment of data and analytics solutions to support nuclear operations and decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, engineering, operations) to understand data needs and develop effective solutions.
- Implement data pipelines, data warehousing, and ETL processes to ensure high-quality and accessible data.
- Design and build strong foundational data pipelines for AI initiatives.
- Develop advanced analytical models and algorithms to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement in data practices.
- Provide level 3 support to current Power BI reports.
- Assess, design, develop, integrate and troubleshoot technology to support business processes.
- Provide technical or functional guidance to project/work teams, as needed within specific or multiple disciplines.
- Ensure reliability, performance, security, and continuity of IT systems; ensure excellent technical support services are provided.
- Analyze, design, develop, test, debug, implement, maintain, integrate, customize, and enhance existing or new systems.
- Apply appropriate Agile/development methodologies, SDLCs, tools, and technology.
- Automate the handoff of code releases from development to operations (DevOps).
- Participate in change management and service ticket management (receiving, resolution monitoring, ensuring customer satisfaction).
- Lead projects when needed and build strong working understanding of the solution being delivered.
- Ensure user satisfaction via preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely resolution of complex problems.
- Design, develop, and test experimental application work to test new ideas with bounded cost/time frames.
- Ensure application processes align with corporate social responsibility, security, compliance, environmental, and technical policies and applicable standards/legislation.
Requirements
The Senior IT Programmer Analyst will lead data-driven initiatives and implement advanced analytical solutions within the Nuclear IT division. This role requires a strong background in data engineering, analytics, and nuclear industry knowledge to drive decision-making and optimize operations.
Candidate must be a US citizen or US Permanent Resident due to the nature of the work., * Strong background in data engineering and analytics; nuclear industry knowledge to support nuclear operations and decision-making.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL; experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data visualization tools (Power BI, etc.).
- Experience with data management efforts (data quality, data governance, retention, privacy, data security).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to nuclear data management and security.
- Expert knowledge with Oracle, Databricks, SQL, PostgreSQL.
- Hands-on knowledge of Power BI Architect, AWS DMS, Microsoft Co-pilot, Microsoft Studio.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS and GCP) and their data services.
- Familiarity with Open Search and Neo4J.
- Work authorization: US Citizen or US Permanent Resident (required due to the nature of the work).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with real-time and IoT data.
- Knowledge in Gen AI.
- Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence applications in the nuclear sector.
