Job description

#restonfed Kforce has a client that is seeking a Network Administrator in McLean, VA. Summary: Are you an experienced IT professional who thrives in managing, securing, and optimizing enterprise systems? We're seeking a System Administrator to support mission-critical infrastructure, ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of servers, workstations, and operating environments. What You'll Do:

  • Install, configure, maintain, and support operating systems, servers, workstations, and web servers
  • Perform software installations, upgrades, and patch management in accordance with established IT policies and procedures
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance to ensure maximum availability and efficiency
  • Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and recoverability
  • Maintain operating system and application environments through configuration, change, and lifecycle management
  • Develop and promote standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation
  • Conduct routine hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and configuration requirements
  • Maintain system inventories, configuration baselines, and supporting documentation repositories
  • Evaluate and implement hardware and software solutions to improve reliability, performance, and operational effectiveness

Requirements

  • Experience administering Windows and/or Linux server environments
  • Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
  • Knowledge of system performance monitoring, patch management, and troubleshooting
  • Understanding of configuration management and change management best practices
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
