Job description
We are seeking a Solution Architect for a consultancy mission at a client site, representing Keystone Solutions. You will support the design of a multi-user data and analytics platform, particularly focusing on the 'storage layer' component, including the 'data lake' which forms the foundation of the data platform. You will also facilitate interactions with other components such as the 'ingestion layer', 'core systems', and 'front-end systems'., * Propose, evaluate, test, and provide advice on technologies, tools, and methodologies for the 'storage' component (lakehouse), including BLOB storage, data lake, relational database management systems (RDBMS), SQL RDBMS, and NoSQL Database Systems.
- Propose how to implement the 'medallion' architecture (bronze, silver, gold), archiving, and backup within the data platform, considering ingestion, processing, integration, consumption, and dissemination of various data flows and legal obligations.
- Evaluate, propose, and test that these solutions are consistent with the overall architecture of the platform, based on open-source, sovereign, and multi-user technologies, and are compatible and interoperable with other components.
- Ensure that the architecture and data flows comply with requirements defined by the Data Office, GDPR, NIS2, and the European Health Data Space.
- Proactively resolve challenges related to system choices and implementation.
- Advise technical teams, evaluate technical designs and code, and support best practices.
- Collaborate with various services, management, and external partners, acting as a technical contact person.
- Document technical processes and ensure high-quality technical implementation.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Management, or a related field, complemented by relevant experience.
- At least 10 years of experience in data platforms, data engineering, solution architecture, data storage, big data ecosystems, data modeling, and database technologies.
- Experience in designing and implementing modern data and analytics platforms.
- Expertise in data platform architecture, data ingestion, data lakes, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Technical expertise in selecting, implementing, and maintaining storage solutions (e.g., MinIO, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, S3-compatible object storage), data processing (e.g., Apache ecosystem, Iceberg, Spark, dbt), containers and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Helm), security (e.g., Keycloak, vault), infrastructure (e.g., Terraform, OpenStack), and management/version control (e.g., open project, JIRA, GitHub, GitLab).
- Generic skills in metadata management, data governance, privacy, data protection, and security (e.g., GDPR, NIS2, Data Governance Act).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of conveying complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Motivated and able to work independently, with a collaborative spirit and strong communication skills.
- Ability to lead, contribute to defining, and influence the design and development of solutions.
- Client-oriented mindset with a strong results orientation.
