Job description

The Software Engineer III - Test Automation supports the quality and reliability of enterprise cloud applications by designing, developing, and executing automated testing solutions across AWS environments in a remote work environment. This role develops cloud-based testing tools, builds automation frameworks, integrates testing into GitLab CI/CD pipelines, and supports distributed applications through cloud-based solutions. Success in this role is demonstrated by delivering scalable automation solutions that improve test coverage, increase reliability, streamline validation processes, and support efficient cloud application deployments. Requirements: What You Will Do in This Role The Software Engineer III - Test Automation develops and implements automated testing solutions for enterprise cloud applications, leveraging AWS technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation to improve software quality, reliability, and deployment efficiency.

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for enterprise cloud applications across UAT and DEV environments.
  • Collaborate with AWS cloud application and service teams to define requirements, understand system architecture, and coordinate testing efforts across distributed cloud systems.
  • Utilize AWS dashboards, alarms, CloudWatch logs, and notifications to monitor test execution, identify issues, and evaluate application performance.
  • Generate detailed test summaries, execution reports, and defect documentation to communicate results with stakeholders and development teams.
  • Develop AWS-based tools and utilities to support QA operations, including gathering requirements, designing solutions, implementing functionality, and providing ongoing maintenance and support.
  • Implement cloud-based automated testing solutions to enhance test coverage, improve reliability, and increase repeatability of testing processes.
  • Integrate cloud tools and automated test solutions into GitLab CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and software delivery workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based development, distributed processing environments, and application monitoring tools.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on Python experience, including scripting, automation, and cloud-focused development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence for work tracking, collaboration, and technical documentation.
  • Hands-on experience developing and managing GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency with Terraform for cloud resource deployment, infrastructure automation, and environment provisioning.
  • Functional knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create technical documentation and collaborate effectively across teams.

Work authorization/security clearance requirements

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance., * Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's and client facilities.
