Job description

We are seeking an experienced SQL Developer with strong expertise in SQL Server technologies, database development, reporting, and ETL solutions. The ideal candidate will lead the design, development, optimization, and maintenance of enterprise database systems while supporting business intelligence and reporting requirements.

The opportunity:

  • Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server database solutions.

  • Create and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views. Develop, deploy, and support reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).

  • Design and maintain ETL workflows using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).

  • Manage and monitor database environments using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).

  • Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable database solutions.

  • Ensure data integrity, security, availability, and reliability across databases.

  • Lead data migration, transformation, and integration initiatives.

  • Support reporting and analytics requirements for business stakeholders.

  • Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.

  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA teams, and project managers throughout the SDLC.

  • Ensure compliance with coding standards, security policies, and best practices.

  • Provide production support and resolve complex database-related incidents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

  • 8-12 years of experience in SQL Server development and database solutions.

  • Strong expertise in SSRS, SSIS, and SSMS.

  • Experience in enterprise-scale database environments.

  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Azure SQL Database or cloud data platforms.

  • Knowledge of Power BI or other reporting tools.

  • Exposure to Data Warehousing concepts.

  • Experience in Healthcare, Insurance, or Financial domains.

  • SQL Server Administration knowledge., Microsoft SQL Server, SDLC, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services, Issue Analysis, ETL, Scrum, SQL

Benefits & conditions

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below., Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Part-time employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) program with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance.

Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).

All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
