Job description

As a Systems Reliability Support Specialist, within PNC's IT, Site Reliability Engineering Center (SRC) you will work from one of PNC's IT Hubs: Cleveland, Ohio; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dallas, Texas; Birmingham, Alabama, Denver, Colorado or Phoenix, Arizona.

Experience with multiple technologies with the capacity to learn new technologies: Linux, SQL, Log aggregation querying, Java debugging, python debugging , Mongo DB, Hadoop, Big Data Pipelines. Kubernetes/Pod orchestration, Systems networking / Security.

Experience with these technologies are a plus: ETL knowledge, SAFe methodology, Mainframe, additional DBs (Oracle, SQL, Kafka, Mongo, etc) and

Ansible.

Position supports PNC's Site Reliability Engineering Center and involves participating on a team rotation schedule for off hour critical incidents.

  • Performs maintenance, including installation of patches and upgrades.
  • Incident detection, resolution and/or escalation. Participation in root cause analysis and correction resulting in prevention.
  • Monitors systems availability, performance, and capacity against baseline metrics and reports trends.
  • Develops in depth knowledge of supported systems and applications.
  • Performs application governance, such as required attestations, continuity testing, impact analysis, responding to audit/regulatory inquiries and complying with technology standards.
