Job description

Serco offers an exciting opportunity to support a Department of Defense customer and the F-35 Joint Program Office mission. As a Security Specialist (Operations) - Mid, you will provide full-spectrum security operations support across collateral, Special Access Program (SAP), and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) environments.

In this role, you will help ensure security compliance, protect critical program information, and support mission execution through the administration of security processes, access control, records management, facility accreditation activities, inspections, reporting, and stakeholder coordination. The successful candidate will bring strong industrial security experience, operational discipline, and a thorough understanding of Department of Defense security requirements while supporting a dynamic and mission-focused environment.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Support security operations across collateral, Special Access Program (SAP), and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) environments.

  • Assist with security documentation, action tracking, access support, records management, and compliance coordination.

  • Process Program Access Requests (PARs) through approved channels.

  • Perform administrative security support requirements associated with the receipt, transmission, inventory, reproduction, disposition, and management of SAP materials.

  • Develop and maintain Program Security Officer (PSO)-approved SAP Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for each F-35 facility and ensure processes and procedures remain current and approved.

  • Coordinate with government and contractor stakeholders to support operational security requirements and mission execution.

  • Support meetings, briefings, data calls, reports, and recurring leadership updates related to security operations.

  • Review security documentation for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with customer requirements.

  • Identify operational risks, process gaps, and opportunities to improve security support execution.

  • Maintain SAP facility accreditation.

  • Maintain, monitor, and service the SAP program post office box.

  • Conduct and report on annual self-inspections of SAP programs.

  • Assist with Security Education and Training support activities.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship.

  • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline, or seven (7) years of specialized experience performing full-spectrum industrial security duties supporting collateral, SAP, and SCI environments.

  • Minimum relevant experience consistent with the stated qualification requirements.

  • Thorough knowledge of Department of Defense and military service security regulations, policies, and instructions pertaining to personnel, physical, industrial, and information security.

  • In-depth knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and Joint Air Force-Army-Navy (JAFAN) security requirements.

  • Experience supporting security operations, industrial security programs, collateral programs, SAP, SCI, or related Department of Defense security functions.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across government and contractor teams.

  • Ability to operate successfully in a fast-paced, mission-focused security environment.

  • This position is fully on-site in Arlington, Virginia.

  • Must be able to work in the Arlington, Virginia office Monday through Friday during normal business hours.
