Job description
Functional Description: Shall support the Data Engineering functional area encompasses the design, implementation, and management of databases and data pipelines to support TSSC operations and analysis. This includes:
- Database design and optimization for TSSC data collection and analysis
- Development of data pipelines for processing TSSC data
- Implementation of data storage solutions for long-term analysis
- Creation of data models to support analytical requirements
- Optimized database schemas that enhance TSSC data collection and analysis capabilities
- Secure, efficient data pipelines with robust validation procedures that ensure data integrity
- Properly implemented data storage solutions compliant with classified environment requirements
- Comprehensive data models that effectively support analytical requirements
- Documented database architecture that meets security and performance standards
- Weekly data engineering status reports that track progress and identify issues
- Data quality reports that demonstrate the effectiveness of data validation procedures
- Secure integration with existing Government systems and databases
Requirements
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer with TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph to join our dynamic team., Required:
- Active TS/SCI with CI polygraph security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in data engineering or database administration
- Advanced proficiency in programming languages like Python, SQL, Java, and Scala
- Expertise in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes
- In-depth knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
- Hands-on experience with big data frameworks
- Proficiency with cloud computing services
- Strong understanding of data modeling and data warehousing
- Understanding of data security requirements for classified environments
Desired:
- Experience with MLOps and supporting machine learning workflows.
- Knowledge of emerging data architecture patterns like Data Mesh or Data Fabric.
- Expertise in real-time data streaming and processing technologies.
- Advanced certifications in cloud data services (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty).
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- A strong business acumen and the ability to connect data initiatives to business outcomes.
- Working with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
