Job description
We are looking to expand our software development team in Karlsruhe with a motivated software developer (f/m/d) who is interested in new solutions. The work will focus in particular on adding new features to the Chemotion ELN and LabIMotion ELN software (https://chemotion.net./doc, https://chemotion.net/docs/labimotion), thereby enabling the involvement of another community. Working on our team provides the opportunity to contribute to the ETOS Future Cluster (https://zukunftscluster-etos.de/de/ETOS/) and the National Research Data Infrastructure (https://www.nfdi.de/?lang=en), which provides software at the national level to all interested universities in Germany. Our group's projects have national and international visibility, and the services built upon them open up new possibilities for researchers across the board in handling and reusing data. As part of our internationally diverse team, you will help accelerate data-driven insights., * Extending existing software through full-stack development for Chemotion
- Software design and strategic enhancements
- Managing code using GitHub and code management tools
- Using AI tools for efficient software development
- Communicating and interacting with software users to identify weaknesses and required improvements
- Implementing bug fixes and adjustments
- Documenting the work on dedicated documentation platforms for both developers and users

Requirements
- Master's degree in Computer Science with several years of professional experience
- Experience in developing well-structured code that ensures high performance of the developed applications, as well as expertise in both backend and frontend development; UX knowledge
- Knowledge of the programming languages HTML, JavaScript, Python, PHP, JS, and ReactJS, as well as, ideally, Ruby
- Experience with AI-assisted development is desired
- Interdisciplinary skills: strong teamwork and communication skills, very good English proficiency
