Job description
Ocean infinity is seeking a Web Team Lead. This role reports directly to the Director of Software Engineering and serves as a vital bridge between management and the software development team. We're looking for someone assertive and entrepreneurial, someone who takes initiative, isn't afraid to dig for answers, and helps the team navigate and solve complex problems rather than waiting for direction.
What will you do:
- Lead a team of backend and frontend software engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features;
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications;
- Help design, implement, or prototype services for systems and solutions for technically complex products by using containerised microservices;
- Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other agile ceremonies;
- Remove impediments to the team's progress;
- Follow development and quality best practices, but be critical if you believe they can be improved;
- Take responsibility for making sound technical engineering decisions;
- Document software and processes as needed.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related;
- Preferably 4+ years of experience as a software engineer targeting C#, Python, or single-page web apps using React or Angular with Typescript;
- Proven experience as a Team Leader or similar role in a software development team;
- Understanding of Agile methodologies;
- Experience with communication protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, REST, gRPC and SignalR.
- Familiarity with RESTful architecture;
- Experience with event-driven architectures or event-streaming services, such RabbitMQ and Kafka.
- Experience with microservice development and containerisation techniques such as Docker or Kubernetes;
- Experience with code versioning tools such as Git or equivalent;
- Strong understanding of quality management, including but not limited to standards, regulations and applicable policies and procedures;
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise work in a fast-paced environment;
- Critical thinking and ability to show initiative and be entrepreneurial;
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
Desirable:
- Fluency in English (spoken and written);
- Familiar with basic web application security concepts;
- Experience working with real-time data;
- Experience with distributed systems and networks (IoT, Industry 4.0);
- Experience in Industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus and OPC;
- Knowledge of IoT technologies, including communication protocols, cloud platforms, and network security.
