Job description
This is a hands-on IT & Network Engineer position supporting a busy manufacturing environment. You will take ownership of network infrastructure, systems reliability, and day-to-day IT support that keeps production and business operations running smoothly.
- Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot local area networks, wireless infrastructure and related network services
- Support servers, workstations, printers and manufacturing-related IT systems
- Implement and manage network security, backups and disaster-recovery processes
- Provide first- and second-line technical support to site users
- Assist with IT projects, system upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure high availability of critical systems in a manufacturing setting
- Document network configurations, procedures and changes
Requirements
- Solid experience as an IT Support / Network Engineer in a business or manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, switching, routing, VLANs, Wi-Fi)
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, switches and network monitoring tools
- Previous experience and ability to work independently and prioritise in a fast-paced manufacturing/production site
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solution-focused approach, * CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA or equivalent certification
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure or hybrid environments
- Knowledge of industrial / OT network considerations or manufacturing systems
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements
