Job description

We seek a Data Insight & Automation Engineer to help design, build, and deploy automation solutions for government organizations nationwide. In this role, you'll work directly under Dr. Andrew Drucker, whose expertise in algorithms for decision-making under uncertainty helps drive the development of our next-generation automation platform.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys applying mathematics, data science, and software engineering to solve complex real-world problems. You'll collaborate on challenging analytical work, develop scalable Python applications, leverage AI-assisted development tools, and help build innovative systems that improve operational efficiency across government organizations.

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop Python-based software applications and automation solutions.
  • Build scalable data processing and transformation pipelines.
  • Analyze complex datasets to identify patterns, relationships, and opportunities for automation.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate software development while maintaining production-quality code.
  • Develop internal tools that improve implementation efficiency and operational scalability.
  • Support the onboarding and configuration of new customer environments.
  • Collaborate closely with company leadership to design, test, and deploy new platform capabilities.
  • Continuously improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, skilled at discovering and expressing complex relationships within data and at architecting software and data models. If you're someone who enjoys thinking critically, identifying patterns, and creating intelligent systems that make organizations significantly more efficient, you'll thrive in this role., * Strong Python programming experience.

  • Experience working with structured data and large datasets.
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications (not required)

  • Background in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience with financial analytics, accounting, auditing, budgeting, or other data-intensive disciplines.
  • Experience using Python libraries such as pandas, Polars, NumPy, or similar.
  • Experience building automation tools, workflow applications, or data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS.
