Job description
The Programmer/Analyst has advanced proficiency in programming, database knowledge and concepts. They can create interface screens to collect data or populate a form, test the input for accuracy, and update the core system. The Programmer/Analyst will complete tasks with a high level of accomplishment and collaboration involving management, staff and vendor support when necessary. Also responsible for code documentation and processes to enable the ease of future modifications and troubleshooting., * Maintain and modify existing software using RPG.
- Provides programming support for various interfaces.
- Implement new software projects using the appropriate programming language.
- Analyze requests for programming, write functional and technical specifications to accommodate requested needs, and make necessary changes to program code to accomplish desired results.
- Thoroughly test all program changes.
- Provide functional and technical documentation internally and externally for review and maintenance.
- Provide technical assistance to end users.
Requirements
- Proficient at reading/writing RPG (RPG III, RPG IV, RPG Free) programming for the IBM iSeries or AS/400
- Proficient in SQL queries for extracting data from DB2 or MySQL
- Experience with a scripting language such as PHP, Ruby, or Javascript
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High level understanding of manufacturing and/or financial business processes
