Job description

As a Senior Lead - Citrix Solutions Architect within the Infrastructure Solutions Delivery (ISD) organization, you will be responsible for defining, designing, and governing the enterprise Citrix platform strategy for GlobalFoundries. This role owns the end-to-end Citrix ecosystem, ensuring secure, scalable, high-performing, and resilient virtual application and desktop services that support the company's global workforce. You will partner with infrastructure, security, network, and application teams to drive modernization, operational excellence, and user experience across Citrix environments.

  • Define and maintain the enterprise Citrix architecture, standards, and technology roadmap.
  • Ensure Citrix platforms deliver secure, scalable, and highly available virtual application and desktop services.
  • Drive modernization initiatives, automation, and continuous improvement across Citrix infrastructure.
  • Lead architectural decisions related to Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix Cloud, NetScaler, and supporting technologies.
  • Ensure platform reliability, performance, security, and disaster recovery capabilities by design.
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to align end-user computing solutions with business requirements and strategic objectives., * Citrix Architecture & Strategy: Define and maintain the enterprise Citrix architecture, technology standards, deployment models, and roadmap for virtual applications and desktop services.
  • Citrix Cloud & Hybrid Services: Evaluate, implement, and manage Citrix Cloud and hybrid deployment models to improve flexibility, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor, analyze, and optimize Citrix infrastructure performance, user experience, application delivery, and resource utilization.
  • High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Design and validate resilient architectures, business continuity solutions, disaster recovery strategies, and recovery procedures for Citrix services.
  • Security & Compliance: Collaborate with Cybersecurity teams to ensure Citrix environments comply with corporate security standards, identity management practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Automation & Modernization: Develop automation and Infrastructure-as-Code capabilities to streamline provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, and operational processes.
  • Capacity Planning: Conduct forecasting and capacity planning activities to ensure Citrix infrastructure can meet current and future business demands.
  • Documentation & Standards: Maintain comprehensive architecture diagrams, operational procedures, technical standards, and platform documentation.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to infrastructure engineers and support teams while promoting Citrix best practices and operational excellence.
  • Operational Support: Act as the highest level of technical escalation for complex Citrix-related incidents, performance challenges, and strategic initiatives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous enhancement of platform reliability, security, automation, user experience, and operational maturity through regular assessments and roadmap execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, a related field or a masters degree in another discipline and equivalent industry experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure, with extensive hands-on expertise in Citrix, virtualization, and end-user computing technologies.
  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and supporting Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD), Citrix Cloud, and related technologies in large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Strong expertise with VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or comparable virtualization platforms.
  • Experience with Windows Server technologies, Active Directory, Group Policy, and enterprise authentication solutions.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts including DNS, DHCP, load balancing, firewalls, VPNs, and application delivery controllers.
  • Experience deploying and supporting hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure solutions across geographically distributed environments.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure security best practices, vulnerability management, and enterprise compliance requirements.
  • Experience leading infrastructure transformation projects, platform upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management initiatives.
  • Familiarity with automation and scripting technologies such as PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-management skills, with the ability to resolve complex infrastructure and performance issues.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to engage effectively with business and technical teams.
