Job description

SENIOR AI ENGINEER Location: Amsterdam North (Hybrid) Duration: 12 months

Our client, a large retailer is requires a Lead/Senior AI Engineer to join the team in Amsterdam North. In this role you will Lead the technical delivery of scalable, production-ready AI systems. Design reusable AI services, optimise RAG pipelines, build Agentic workflows, and mentor engineers.

Key responsibilities

  • Design enterprise AI services & platform components
  • Build RAG pipelines & Agentic AI workflows
  • Integrate AI into apps via scalable APIs/microservices
  • Improve performance, reliability & security
  • Code reviews & mentoring

Requirements

  • 6-10 years software engineering
  • 2-5 years production AI
  • Expert Python, Advanced SQL, Java/Kotlin
  • LLMs, RAG, Agentic AI, LangChain, Prompt Engineering
  • Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions
  • PostgreSQL, pgvector, vector search

Nice to have: Azure AI Foundry, OpenTelemetry, MCP, AI Guardrails
