Job description
- The Sr Data Engineer will be primary responsible for the environment's database layer support the Army G8 PA&E.
- They will coordinates administrative functions to ensure data is reliably available and access times are minimized allowing quickest access possible to data.
- They will be responsible for all interfaces into and out of the data layer and for API hub allowing data exchanges with internal and external sources or systems.
- They will ensure applications can access data with minimum latency and Facilitate change control, problem management, and communication among data architects, programmers, analysts, and engineers.
- They will establish and enforce processes to ensure a consistent, well managed, and well-integrated data infrastructure.
- They will be responsible for Analyzing and identifying data and metadata requirements.
- They will need to have the ability to define user requirements and database design specifications.
- They will provide designs, implementations, and support data warehousing requirements.
- They will also implement business rules via stored procedures, middleware, or other technologies.
- In addition, they will provide product support and maintenance and perform data warehouse design and construction. They will prepares/implement data verification and testing methods for the data warehouse.
- Must have the ability to communicate accurate information
Requirements
Required:
- The Sr. Data Engineer must have an undergraduate degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering or Business, or other relevant field.
- They must have minimum 5 years Data Engineering experience
- Must have a secret clearance
Desired:
Familary with database systems within ARC/cPROBE, including PaaS or SaaS: a. Oracleb. SQL Serverc. PostgreSQLd. RedShifte. Mongo DB, Physical DemandsEmployee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Most positions require ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and providing recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
