Job description

Sabre Systems is currently recruiting for a Data Management Specialist (Journeyman) to support the Combat Survivability Division at NAS Patuxent River in Lexington Park, MD. This position will support Low Observables (LO) Life Cycle Management (LCM). This is an in-person on-site position at NAS Patuxent River and not eligible for telework. Anticipated Travel requirements are less than 10%. Level of effort 50% (960 hours).

The selected candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Effectively and efficiently operate and communicate across multi-level security environments.
  • Coordinate and execute the integration of data from multiple program and project offices, ensuring consistency and completeness across sources.
  • Manage, maintain, and optimize relational and/or non-relational databases to ensure data availability, reliability, and performance.
  • Implement and monitor data quality checks, validation routines, and cleansing processes to maintain high data integrity.
  • Develop and maintain metadata repositories, data dictionaries, and documentation to support data transparency and usability.
  • Ensure all data management activities comply with DoD/NAVAIR security, privacy, and regulatory requirements, including access controls and audit trails.
  • Design, implement, and manage Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) processes to efficiently move and transform data between systems and environments.
  • Support the establishment and enforcement of data governance policies, standards, and best practices across the project.
  • Document data management processes, workflows, standards, and procedures for reference and training purposes.
  • Work closely with data scientists, engineers and other stakeholders to ensure data is organized, accessible, and fit for analysis.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve data-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to project workflows and analytics.

Requirements

  • Accredited BA or BS degree relevant to data management or information technology.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in defense, aerospace, or government programmatic/technical settings.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Minimum Security Clearance Requirements: Active TS with SAP eligibility
  • Desired Security Clearance Requirements: Active TS with SAP eligibility and SCI Eligibility
  • Optimal Security Clearance Requirements: Active TS with SAP eligibility, existing C-Net access, and SCI Access Indoctrination
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering results in support of multi-level security projects.
  • Direct experience managing data in defense, aerospace, or government programmatic/technical settings.
  • Proficient in the MS Office 365 suite, especially SharePoint.
  • Understanding of data governance principles, including data quality, integrity, and stewardship.
  • Proficiency in data integration, Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) processes, and data migration between systems.
  • Familiarity with data security, privacy, and compliance requirements, especially in DoD or government environments.
  • Ability to create and maintain metadata repositories and data dictionaries.
  • Proficiency in documenting data management processes, standards, and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills for working with data scientists, engineers, logisticians, and multi-disciplinary teams.

Desired Qualifications (minimum qualifications, plus the following);

  • Direct experience supporting ACAT-level programs.
  • Demonstrated experience managing, organizing, and maintaining large datasets in a technical or programmatic environment.
  • Experience developing and implementing data quality assurance and auditing processes.
  • Ability to automate data management tasks using scripting languages (e.g. Python, PowerShell).

Benefits & conditions

At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms. The general salary range for this position is as follows: $146,432.00 - $162,270.00
