Senior Platform Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to take responsibility for the operation, governance, and continuous development of Miba's data and analytics platform, with a strong focus on Databricks and Unity Catalog.

What you can expect

• Set up and configure Databricks workspaces
• Manage data assets such as catalogs, schemas, and tables using Unity Catalog
• Ensure the platform is secure, reliable, scalable, and available
• Define and maintain platform standards, governance, and best practices
• Help implement and improve the organization's Data Domain structure
• Advise data scientists, analysts, and business users across Miba
• Enable self-service data use within a governed framework
• Organize onboarding, training, and user support
• Monitor platform usage, performance, and availability
• Improve platform efficiency, usability, and automation
• Maintain clear technical documentation
• Participate in Agile meetings and sprint planning
• Collaborate with IT teams, architects, security specialists, and external partners

• Experience with Microsoft Azure, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure DevOps
• Proficiency in SQL, Python and PySpark
• Solid knowledge of Databricks, Unity Catalog, and Terraform/IaC
• Understanding of cloud security, governance, access management, networking, monitoring, and automation
• Knowledge of Agile methods and experience in cross-functional teams
• Structured, solution-oriented approach with excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
• Ability to explain complex technical topics clearly to different audiences
• Fluent in German and English

For this position we offer a minimum payment of 62,000 EUR /year, plus social benefits and possible bonuses. Especially qualified and experienced candidates will be offered overpay.
