Job description
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic person with a passion for RV's. As Kit Engineer within the adapter team, you play a key role in enabling sales for our main product categories by ensuring an optimal fit on different vehicles. You are responsible for the technical design of the adapters for our product categories 'awnings' and 'steps'. You will align with product management and sales on required specifications and ensure they are fulfilled (form, fit and function). You report to the Kit Team Leader and are part of the Product development team. * You are responsible for the development & design of adapter kits for awnings & steps.
- You implement defined optimizations and quality improvements on existing adapter kits.
- You are responsible to manage your product development projects from concept to
industrialization.
- You closely cooperate with production, sales, purchase & product management.
- You act as a technical expert adapters to support internal and external sales.
- You have direct communication lines with the technical counterpart of the customers &
suppliers.
- You are responsible to assess and approve samples delivered by your suppliers
- You perform test fittings to ensure a perfect fit (inhouse and at customers)
- You actively participate in strategic projects defined by the Kit Team Manager & the
Product Development Leader.
- You present your concepts to the clients.
- You visit clients and fairs to do prospections.
- You support product management in ensuring a close follow-up on the market, keeping
track of new RV's and other evolutions in the market.
Requirements
- You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Industrial Product Design or equivalent
through experience.
- You bring preferably a few years of experience in a similar function; graduates are also
welcome.
- Knowledge of Dutch (very good), English (good), French (basic), and German is a plus
(basic).
- Knowledge of mechanical design; knowledge of CAD-3D drawing (SolidWorks is a plus).
- Spatial insight and familiarity with the principles of technical drawing.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Creative, conceptual, and strong analytical insight.
- Dynamic, communicative, flexible, and proactive.
- You have a natural interest in vehicles, especially in recreational vehicles.
- You represent the Thule brand with an 'active lifestyle'.
