Job description
As a Junior Infrastructure & Cloud Architect, you will join our teams on high-stakes client engagements across a broad range of sectors - industry, financial services, public sector, retail, and energy. Under the guidance of senior architects, you will actively contribute to the design and implementation of cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions. You will help define architectural standards, evaluate alternative designs, and produce high-quality technical deliverables. You will gain hands-on exposure to multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and leading technologies in Infrastructure as Code, containerisation, and observability. This role is a genuine launchpad for building market-recognised cloud architecture expertise within one of the world's leading technology consulting firms., * Contribute to the design and documentation of cloud and hybrid architectures for enterprise client engagements.
- Support the development of cloud adoption strategies aligned with client business objectives and regulatory constraints.
- Evaluate and recommend cloud services, IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep), and PaaS offerings suited to client needs.
- Participate in architecture workshops and technical scoping sessions with client teams.
- Assist with the implementation of containerisation and orchestration solutions (Docker, Kubernetes/GKE/AKS/EKS).
- Contribute to the design of CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks aligned with DevSecOps standards.
- Support the implementation of monitoring and observability solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, CloudWatch).
- Produce architectural deliverables: ADRs, architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and technology benchmarks.
- Collaborate with security, networking, and DevOps teams to ensure solution integrity and coherence.
- Engage in communities of practice, certification initiatives, and internal applied research activities.
Requirements
- Fluency English is required and fluency in French and/or Dutch are required.
- Ability to work effectively in an international and multicultural environment., * Solid foundational knowledge of at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP): services, pricing, and governance models.
- Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep) and state management principles.
- Cloud networking fundamentals: VPCs, subnets, DNS, load balancers, firewalls, and peering.
- Familiarity with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration concepts (Kubernetes).
- Understanding of cloud security principles: IAM, least-privilege, encryption at rest and in transit, compliance.
- Awareness of DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), automated testing, and artefact management.
- Strong written and verbal communication - ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to multi-cloud, hybrid, or edge computing architectures.
- Experience with advanced monitoring and observability tooling (Grafana, ELK stack, OpenTelemetry).
- Knowledge of serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, Google Cloud Run).
- Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban) and continuous integration practices.
- Awareness of FinOps principles: cloud cost optimisation, tagging, rightsizing, and reservation models.
- Basic scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for infrastructure automation.
Relevant Certifications
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Solutions Architect - Associate.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or Azure Administrator (AZ-104).
- Google Associate Cloud Engineer.
- HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate.
- Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD).
Additional Requirements
- Candidates must be citizens of a NATO member country.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in Belgium.
