Job description
The Technology Team is the driving force behind all our technical infrastructure, networks, corporate systems, and software IT. It is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the entire technical landscape, which serves as the foundation for all permanent and event-based services for our customers (e.g., media organizations, sports federations, and event enterprises)., As a Platform Engineer, you will work closely with the Platform Architecture Division, transforming architectural standards and designs into production-ready platforms, ensuring they are reliable, secure, and ready to support mission-critical live events around the world., Platform Build & Operations
-
Build, maintain, and evolve the infrastructure that runs Eurovision Services' broadcast processing and distribution platforms, including on-premise processing hubs, PoPs, and cloud and hybrid environments.
-
Ensure platforms are stable, performant, and operationally ready, working with Reliability Engineering on monitoring, incident response, and service continuity.
Automation
- Drive automation across platform operations, reducing manual configuration, standardizing deployments, and eliminating dependencies that currently sit inside the infrastructure.
Architectural Alignment
-
Implement architectural standards and reference designs defined by Platform Architecture, flagging constraints, deviations, or feasibility issues early rather than absorbing them.
-
Maintain an active understanding of Eurovision Services' network architecture and connectivity model, ensuring network constraints, capacity, and transport requirements are a considered input to all platform engineering decisions.
Lifecycle Planning
- Contribute to lifecycle planning, identifying obsolescence risks, capacity gaps, and vendor dependencies across the current infrastructure estate and surfacing them to the Head of Platform Infrastructure.
Fast Forward Contribution
- Support the Fast Forward program by delivering the infrastructure modernization workstreams that underpin the transition to a reduced, consolidated, and datacenter-ready footprint.
Requirements
-
5+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or systems engineering, ideally in a broadcast, media, or other live operational environment.
-
Hands-on experience building and operating cloud and hybrid infrastructure.
-
Experience implementing architectural standards set by a separate design authority, rather than defining architecture independently.
-
Experience contributing to automation and reducing manual, person-dependent operational processes.
Technical Knowledge
-
Strong hands-on engineering skills across on-premise processing hubs, PoPs, and cloud/hybrid environments.
-
Practical experience with automation and configuration management tooling, and standardizing deployment practices.
-
Working knowledge of network fundamentals: connectivity, latency, capacity, and transport requirements as they affect platform engineering decisions.
-
Familiarity with lifecycle management: identifying obsolescence risk, capacity gaps, and vendor dependencies.
Soft Skills
-
Delivery-focused, hands-on approach; comfortable turning architectural direction into operational reality.
-
Clear communicator, able to flag constraints or feasibility issues early rather than absorbing them silently.
-
Collaborative, particularly with Reliability Engineering and Platform Architecture.
-
Adaptable and resilient during a period of organizational and technological change.
Languages
-
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken (mandatory).
-
Spanish, French or any other language related to our business is considered an advantage.
