Job description

Are you passionate about managing infrastructure at a scale that few in Europe can offer?At IONOS, Europe's #1 hosting provider, we are looking for a Specialist System Administrator with a leadership profile to join our critical infrastructure team.This is not a routine maintenance position.You will join at a pivotal moment to work with the technical operations of Stretch (our next-generation web hosting platform) and ensure the operational continuity of an ecosystem encompassing over 500 servers across 28 data centers.The Challenge: Your MissionYour primary objective will be to stabilize and grow the infrastructure following the migration of major platforms (such as Telekom) into the IONOS ecosystem.You will be a key player in mitigating operational risks and ensuring hosting services continue to run seamlessly while we rebuild and expand the team in Spain.Key Responsibilities:Platform Management: Build, maintain, and optimize large-scale Linux platforms and Ceph storage clusters.Continuity & Support: Provide Level 3 support, working closely with Level 2 teams and participating in on-call rotations (approx. 1 week every 6) after an initial adaptation period.Knowledge Transfer: Collaborate with colleagues in Cologne (Germany) to absorb institutional knowledge of legacy systems and document critical processes.Continuous Improvement: Identify performance bottlenecks and propose/implement proactive improvements to the existing architecture.Your ProfileWe are looking for 3 passionates about Open Source, who remain calm under pressure and enjoy solving complex technical puzzles.Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Linux systems administration, with at least 1-2 years in team leadership or technical management roles.Automation & Configuration: Strong command of configuration management tools (Puppet, Saltstack) and orchestration tools (Ansible, Terraform).Scripting: Advanced proficiency in BASH and Python.Cloud & Virtualization: Hands-on experience with OpenStack.Observability: Proficiency with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.Desired RequirementsNetworking knowledge (TCP/IP v4/v6, load balancing with HAProxy, routing).Experience with SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).Familiarity with containers (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.Experience with ZFS file systems.Global Scale: You will work on one of the largest and most advanced hosting platforms in Europe.The volume of data and traffic you will handle is rarely found in other companies.Real Impact: Your work will directly impact the stability of thousands of web services and the success of critical corporate-level migrations.Learning Culture: We value curiosity.You will have access to continuous training, tech talks, and an environment that fosters professional growth.Stability and Future: You will be part of a long-term growth strategy in Spain, enjoying the benefits of belonging to a solid, industry-leading group.Are you ready for the challenge?Apply now and help shape the technical future of IONOS.#J-*****-Ljbffr
