Job description

Location: Newcastle Working pattern: Hybrid (3 days per week onsite) Please note: This role requires eligibility for BPSS and SC Security Clearance, including 5 years' continuous UK residency. The Role We're looking for a Data Engineer to join a growing technology team delivering cloud and data solutions across a range of complex projects. You'll design and build scalable data pipelines, work with modern cloud technologies, and collaborate with engineers, analysts and product teams to deliver high-quality data solutions that support analytics and AI. Key Responsibilities Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines Develop real-time and batch data processing solutions Work with AWS cloud services and modern data technologies Support CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code Collaborate within Agile teams and contribute to engineering best practices Skills & Experience 3+ years' commercial experience in Data Engineering Strong Java or Python development skills Experience with

Requirements

Kafka, Flink or Spark Experience building ETL/ELT or streaming data pipelines Knowledge of AWS (Azure or GCP also considered) Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD tools Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform Desirable Experience with Databricks, Snowflake or BigQuery Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure or GCP) Experience mentoring junior engineers or working in a consulting environment This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, large-scale data projects using modern cloud technologies while continuing to develop your technical skills within a collaborative engineering team.
