About the company

Roxel is an Anglo-French Company that designs, develops and manufactures a range of solid propellant rocket motors for use in tactical missiles. Its operations are spread across several sites in the UK and France and it has an annual turnover of about £250M and nearly 1000 staff, with 300 in the UK. The role purpose is to establish, deploy and develop a requirements management and systems engineering process for our solid rocket motor programmes. Over the long term this will involve making systems engineering a shared discipline owned by every engineer rather and the sole responsibility of a siloed function. We are working towards the engineering culture often associated with the most effective modern aerospace organisations captured in the phrase: "everyone is a systems engineer, and no one is". A central challenge of this is balancing the rigor which is essential for our safety-critical propulsion systems with a lean, low bureaucracy approach that engineers will be willing to adopt. The successful candidate will help lead this transformation and guide other engineers to understand the systems engineering mindset.
