Data Engineer Newcastle (Hybrid) Permanent Competitive salary + package Im currently working with a global consultancy to hire Data Engineers to join a growing Advanced Technology team delivering large-scale data solutions across public and private sector clients. This is a hands-on role where youll work with modern data technologies, building scalable pipelines and real-time data platforms that power analytics and AI-driven decision making. What youll be doing Building and optimising scalable data pipelines using Java (primary) and technologies like Kafka, Flink, or Spark Developing real-time streaming solutions and event-driven architectures using AWS services (Kinesis, MSK, Lambda, Glue) Contributing to data architecture, modelling, and best practices across modern data platforms Deploying and maintaining solutions using CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) Collaborating with analytics, AI, and product teams to deliver high-quality, reliable datasets What

Requirements

theyre looking for Strong experience in data engineering or large-scale data platforms (3+ years) Proficiency in Java or Python Hands-on experience with streaming technologies (Kafka / Flink preferred) Good understanding of distributed systems and cloud platforms (AWS ideally) Experience with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps practices Why consider this role?
