Job description
We are seeking an experienced React Engineer to support a large-scale retail checkout modernization initiative. This individual will design, develop, and enhance applications used in retail store operations, including transaction management, item handling, pricing adjustments, cash management, and self-checkout workflows. The engineer will build scalable, reusable UI components, integrate front-end applications with REST APIs, and partner closely with product, backend, QA, and business teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing new features, validating complex transaction flows, supporting testing and UAT efforts, resolving defects, participating in Agile ceremonies, and helping ensure production readiness through documentation, monitoring, and operational support activities.
Requirements
7+ years of front-end development experience with strong expertise in React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS. -Experience building enterprise-scale applications using reusable components, state management, routing, and API integrations. -Strong knowledge of REST APIs, JSON payload validation, error handling, and backend service integration. -Experience in retail POS, checkout, self-checkout, store operations, or other high-volume transaction platforms. -Hands-on experience with testing, defect remediation, UAT support, and release readiness. -Knowledge of React component libraries, design systems, accessibility standards, and front-end architecture best practices.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
-Experience with POS modernization, web-based checkout, or store technology platforms. -Experience with hardware-integrated applications such as scanners, POS terminals, and self-checkout devices. -Exposure to testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or BDD tools. -Familiarity with observability, monitoring, SonarQube, containerized deployments, and enterprise CI/CD environments.
