Job description
Job Duties: Lead the analysis, implementation, coding, documentation, maintenance, and support of computer programs, applying knowledge of programming techniques and computer systems for client projects. Write specifications and custom reports, code, test, and debug computer programs. Review user requests and software program requirements for new and modified programs. Responsible for AWS coding and configuration along with Linux infrastructure management. Involved in the installation, configuration, administration, maintenance, and support of DB2 databases on Linux/Unix/Windows servers. Determine the framework and requirements of the database. Determine if the scope of the project fits the timeline and if it meets the budgetary needs. Collect information from the client to analyze the type of data. Analyze how data development should be carried out. Decide what kind of database would be ideal by discussions with the client. Collect information/factors related to database performance. Review design ideas and prototypes with product owners and development team. Provide innovative solutions to system problems. Analyze the data regarding its characteristics, output expected, the audience using the data, and data output. Create a data model with entities and relationship using ER or UML. Validate each data and ER against the requirements. Achieve database design with conceptual design, logical design, normalization, physical design phases. Test and tweak to optimize performance of the developed database. Test the created database to determine if the actual and expected results are matching and get them fixed. Conduct performance testing for the maximum allowable load of a database. Work with database administrators to fix the issues and improve the performance of the database. Ensure that database activities are smooth in their functioning. Create POC (proof of concept) and SOP (standard operating procedures) documents for future reference. Use of AWS (IAM, S3, Glue, EC2, VPC, Terraform), Python, Shell Scripting, DB2, Git, Puppet, SQL, Linux, UNIX, and Windows.
Requirements
Position requires 2 years of experience with AWS, Python, DB2, Git, and Linux., Requirements: Master's degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field. Plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation including Software Engineer, Database Engineer, or related experience. Position requires 2 years of experience with AWS, Python, DB2, Git, and Linux. 40hrs/week.
