Job description

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Power BI dashboards, paginated reports, SSRS reports, and semantic models to support enterprise reporting and analytics needs.
  • Work closely with product teams to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Optimize SQL queries and database performance for reporting efficiency
  • Lead and mentor a team of developers in report/dashboard development and best practices
  • Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and scalability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, DevOps, and product management
  • Manage tasks, sprints, and deliverables using Jira
  • Maintain proper version control practices using Git and TFS
  • Stay updated with the latest Microsoft technologies and reporting tools

Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer to lead our reporting development initiatives. The ideal candidate must have strong technical expertise in Microsoft-based reporting technologies and the ability to guide a team in delivering high-quality, data-driven solutions., * Strong hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards, and paginated reports for enterprise reporting and analytics solutions.

  • Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and SSRS, including complex SQL query development, stored procedures, performance tuning, report design, parameterized reporting, subscription, and report deployment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Power BI semantic models, DirectQuery, Import mode, data modeling best practices, and report performance optimization strategies.
  • Solid expertise in data modeling, data transformation, and BI solution development, including dimensional modeling, advanced DAX development, Power Query (M), and query optimization techniques.
  • Experience implementing and managing security and governance controls, including Row-Level Security (RLS), Object-Level Security (OLS), workspace administration, sensitivity labels, and data endorsement practices.
  • Experience leveraging AI-powered analytics capabilities, including Microsoft Copilot, Q&A visuals, Smart Narratives, and other AI-assisted reporting features.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and performance tuning skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, mentoring, and technical leadership capabilities, with experience collaborating across business and technical teams.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented professional with strong ownership, collaboration skills, and adaptability to evolving technologies and business requirements.
  • Professional certifications such as PL-300 (Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst) and hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse architecture and modern analytics capabilities, will be considered an added advantage.
