Job description
The Senior Network Engineer assists in the deployment, maintenance, support, and monitoring of RACI's networks. Working under the guidance of the IT Director, this role ensures the continuous availability, performance, and security of local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), wireless systems, and related hardware across all RACI locations., * Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor network performance, connectivity, and health using management tools. Perform routine maintenance and escalate anomalies as needed.
- Hardware Deployment: Assist in the staging, configuration, installation, and testing of network hardware including switches, routers, wireless access points, and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).
- Incident Resolution: Respond to network support tickets, documenting all actions accurately.
- Documentation: Maintain clear, updated network documentation, topology maps, asset inventories, and standard operating procedures.
- Compliance and Security: Adhere to established network security baselines and healthcare compliance regulations such as HIPAA.
Requirements
Associate degree or higher in IT, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, and hands-on experience will be considered. Relevant certifications and on-the-job experience may substitute for formal degree requirements.
Experience and Technical Skills
- 5 to 7 years of experience supporting network infrastructure or working in a structured IT environment for network operations. Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, routing and switching, and VPN configuration required.
- Foundational understanding of the OSI model, TCP/IP protocol suite, VLANs, subnetting, and basic routing concepts.
- Basic hands on familiarity with mid level network vendors such as Ubiquiti switches, firewalls, and wireless components, SonicWall, and Meraki devices.
- Familiarity with network diagnostic tools and basic network monitoring platforms.
- Unified Communications experience preferred.
- Azure experience required.
- Willingness to cross train and support RACI beyond core networking and configuration duties.
Preferred Certifications
- CompTIA Network+
- ISC2 certification
- UniFi Wireless Admin (UWA), UniFi Routing, Switching & Cybersecurity Admin (URSCA)
- Active CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or equivalent vendor level certification (Palo Alto PCNSE, Fortinet NSE)

Physical Requirements
- Fully onsite position. Requires travel to various RACI locations throughout Ohio to support network infrastructure, deployments, and troubleshooting activities.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, transport, and rack network hardware weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Participation in a scheduled-on call rotation to support RACI doctors and patients.
