Job description
- Oversee warehouse distribution activities, including stock stocking, shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment to ensure timely delivery and inventory accuracy.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms such as AS400 and SAP, and inventory management software to track inventory levels, analyze data, and generate reports.
- Conduct root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies or supply chain issues to identify underlying problems and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with procurement and sourcing teams to optimize purchasing strategies, negotiate with suppliers, and manage supplier relationships effectively.
- Perform data mining and analytics using tools like Power BI, Tableau, Excel data analysis, SQL, and Nielsen data to support demand planning and category management.
- Lead process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing warehouse operations, materials handling, and logistics inventory management.
- Support financial analysis related to pricing strategies, inventory valuation, and cost optimization through financial modeling.
- Manage logistics activities including transportation planning, freight cost analysis, and shipping & receiving coordination.
- Facilitate cross-functional communication among merchandising, production planning, and warehouse teams for seamless supply chain execution.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards during heavy lifting or materials handling tasks while maintaining high standards of accuracy in inventory control.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse management or logistics operations with a strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes.
- Demonstrated expertise in inventory management software (such as ERP systems like AS400 or SAP) and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau; experience with SQL is advantageous.
- Background in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain analytics with familiarity in demand planning and category management.
- Experience negotiating with suppliers or vendors to optimize costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques, shipping & receiving procedures, and production planning processes.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis using data collection methods and develop actionable insights for process improvements.
- Technical proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel), financial analysis tools, and data analytics platforms is essential.
- Familiarity with logistics inventory management practices including stocking strategies and inventory control measures.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across departments within a diverse organizational environment.
