Job description
Cubic Digital Intelligence is seeking a to join the Unified Video (UV) engineering team supporting the sustainment and modernization of our Full Motion Video (FMV) platform. This role will focus on improving software quality and accelerating release cadence across the Unified Video ecosystem, including Feed Management Portal (FMP) and NetOps. The engineer will develop automated testing solutions, enhance release pipelines, improve deployment reliability, and partner with software engineers to identify opportunities for automation throughout the software development lifecycle. This is a hands-on engineering role responsible for helping the team achieve a consistent, high-quality release cadence through modern testing, automation, and AI-assisted development practices. This is a full-time hybrid position located in Ashburn, VA with limited travel as required.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks for web applications, APIs, and backend services.
- Develop and maintain automated UI and end-to-end tests using Playwright.
- Create, execute, and maintain manual and automated test plans, test cases, and regression suites using Jira Xray.
- Improve and automate software release processes to support a consistent weekly release cadence.
- Develop and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines supporting automated testing, quality gates, and software deployments.
- Collaborate with software engineers to improve application testability, reliability, and deployment efficiency.
- Investigate test failures, identify root causes, and work with development teams to resolve issues.
- Support software validation across Linux-based environments, containerized applications, and PostgreSQL-backed systems.
- Evaluate and implement AI-assisted testing techniques to improve test coverage, defect detection, and engineering productivity.
- Contribute to process improvements, release documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum of of experience in software quality assurance, software testing, release engineering, or DevOps.

Experience developing automated tests using modern testing frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar.

Experience working with Git, GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile software development methodologies.

Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.

Experience with Playwright and modern browser automation frameworks.

Experience using Jira and Xray for test management, traceability, and test execution.

Familiarity with Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux environments.

Experience building or maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines and release automation.

Experience validating REST APIs and backend services.

Experience using AI-assisted testing or development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, etc.) to improve testing efficiency and software quality.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
