Job description
We are seeking a motivatedSoftware Integration and Test Engineer with a passion for real-time, embedded software testing and integration. In this role, you will play a crucial part in integrating hardware and software onto Linux-based operating systems, building testbeds, executing automated/manual tests, and ensuring high-performance outcomes for combat vehicle systems., * Integration & Testing: Plan, build, and maintain software and hardware integration testbeds. Integrate software items onto Linux Operating Systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and combat vehicle hardware.
- Test Execution: Develop, debug, and execute automated and manual requirements-based software verification tests.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot network, system, and software issues across embedded components and communication protocols (CAN, Serial, Ethernet).
- Cybersecurity & Networking: Perform basic cybersecurity hardening, scans, and system networking (VLAN, switches, protocols).
- Collaboration & Mentorship: Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams (Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Systems) and mentor junior software test engineers.
Requirements
If you have a strong technical background in embedded software, Linux environments, and script-based automation, we want to hear from you!, * Education: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in software integration and testing.
- Linux Experience: Proven experience integrating software applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (or Unix derivatives).
- Programming/Scripting: Proficiency in C++, Python, and BASH.
- Tools & Protocols:
- Experience with Git and Jira / GitLab for configuration management.
- Experience testing and troubleshooting communication protocols (CAN, Serial, Ethernet).
- Hands-on knowledge of computer networks (switches, VLANs).
- Requirements: Experience developing, analyzing, and reviewing requirements for safety-critical real-time embedded software.
- Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points)
- Experience with National Instruments (NI) Software (TestStand, VeriStand, LabVIEW).
- Familiarity with UML modeling tools (MagicDraw, Enterprise Architect) or DOORS.
- Experience with cybersecurity tools (Nessus, Coverity, STIG hardening rules, SSL/TLS, SSH, SFTP).
- Experience with Qt Framework for GUI front-ends and virtual machine configurations.
- Familiarity with military/commercial design standards and combat vehicle functionality.
