Head of IT Infrastructure

The KV Berlin is continuously developing and optimizing its IT landscape. The goal is to improve the infrastructure in a sustainable manner and ensure it is future-proof. As head of the IT Infrastructure Solutions Department, you will be responsible for the stable operation and strategic development of our systems. In this leadership role, you will help shape structures, processes, and projects in a challenging environment where availability, security, and future-readiness are top priorities. Your Responsibilities

• Leading and managing the IT Infrastructure Solutions department, with responsibility for personnel and budget
• Organizing and further developing structures, processes, and areas of responsibility within the department
• Strategic development of the infrastructure and creation of corresponding concepts
• Ensuring stable, secure, and cost-effective operation of the data center, networks, and server and database infrastructures
• Responsibility for IT security measures, data protection, disaster recovery, and business continuity management
• Management and quality assurance of external service providers, as well as contract and license management
• Supporting projects and departments in the deployment of new and existing infrastructure
• Managing parallel projects and ensuring adherence to time, cost, and quality requirements
• Preparing decision-making documents, project and status reports, and presenting them to committees
• Supporting, developing, and motivating employees, including team development and personnel planning (including planning for technical on-call duty)

• A completed academic degree (e.g., computer science, mathematics, natural sciences, or engineering) or a comparable qualification with several years of relevant professional experience in the areas of responsibility for this position
• Several years of professional experience in the establishment and strategic development of IT infrastructures
• Leadership experience or demonstrable experience in managing projects in the IT environment
• In-depth knowledge of the administration of infrastructure components, servers, networks, and databases (e.g., Linux, Windows, PostgreSQL)
• In-depth knowledge of IT security concepts, virtualization, containerization, and modern IT operations concepts
• Experience implementing and managing ITIL-based processes
• Project management skills, ideally with certifications (e.g., Scrum, IPMA)
• Strong analytical skills, organizational abilities, and a solution-oriented approach
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as a confident demeanor at all levels
• Team-oriented, motivational leader with a drive to shape the future and a strong sense of responsibility

• Compensation in accordance with the TV-L Berlin collective bargaining agreement, including an annual bonus and 30 days of vacation
• 38.5 hours/week (full-time) and flexible work schedules/part-time options
• Up to 11 days of remote work per month (after the probationary period ends)
