Job description
- As part of the development team, you will be responsible for the operation, further development, and optimization of existing infrastructures with regard to DevOps automation approaches and Infrastructure-as-Code principles. You will be responsible for the continuous delivery pipelines of the web applications, including the maintenance and further development of the GitLab CI pipelines and deployment procedures.
- As part of the development team, you will directly support the software developers with your DevOps expertise and help reduce round-trip times from development to production a little bit every day. You see yourself as a partner to both the developers and the system administrators.
- You'll keep an eye on the ongoing operation of the web applications and also support the patching and vulnerability management process for web application components.
Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science / Business Informatics or comparable skills and knowledge gained through many years of professional experience
- Experience with DevOps and CI/CD concepts, e.g., with Ansible (or Puppet, Chef), GitLab, GitLab CI
- Experience in operating Java-based web applications, configuring Nginx as a reverse proxy and load balancer, and knowledge of relational databases-specifically Oracle and PostgreSQL-is a plus
- The following qualifications round out your profile:
- Proficiency with Linux environments, container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and scripting languages such as Python and Bash
- Practical knowledge of monitoring and logging web application environments using CheckMK and Splunk
- Willingness and initiative to familiarize yourself with new technologies
- An analytical, reliable, and goal-oriented approach to work, as well as strong teamwork and communication skills
- Excellent written and spoken German and good written and spoken English
