Requirements
TXP Technology are seeking an accomplished SQL/Data Analyst to work on a Data Platform Project for a leading manufacturer in the West Midlands. The successful candidate must be able to start in August 2026 and travel to Dudley as required., We're looking for a highly motivated, Midlands based SQL/Data Analyst to join our data team. This role fits a person who can validate, and chase down root cause, as well and help understand and contribute to the migration from an Informatica driven Data Warehouse to a Microsoft Fabric architecture, ensure that we match the existing data supplied to the business or understand why it has changed., * Strong hands-on SQL skills in T-SQL.
- Also comfortable adapting to others such as Oracle/PL/SQL, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Demonstrable experience reading and debugging other people's queries/code - not just writing your own from scratch.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts: incremental loads, watermarking, slowly changing dimensions, staging vs. curated layers.
- Comfortable investigating pipeline failures (eg in Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, SSIS, or similar orchestration tools) - able to read activity logs and error output to isolate the actual failure point.
- Experience working with ERP or Legacy source systems a strong plus (eg JDE, QAD, SAP, Dynamics/Axapta) - comfortable with quirky column naming conventions, Julian-style dates, and inconsistent data types across sources.
- Strong analytical and root cause analysis mindset - instinctively asks "why did this actually happen" rather than stopping at "it works now."
- Familiarity with Python or PySpark for notebook-based transformation logic a plus, not essential.
- Experience with Informatica (PowerCenter, IICS, or similar) as we break apart an old process and migrate to MS Fabric
