Job description
- Design metal roof layouts for commercial and residential projects as a Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) Specialist.
- Create, revise, and maintain technical drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or MicroStation.
- Convert sketches, concepts, field measurements, and engineering notes into accurate digital drawings.
- Prepare layouts, schematics, assembly drawings, and other technical documentation.
- Verify dimensions, materials, and specifications to ensure design accuracy.
- Maintain drawing revisions and document control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Update drawings as project requirements and customer needs evolve.
- Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, industry requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, project managers, production teams, and other stakeholders to support successful project execution.
- Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the design process.
- Work primarily in an office environment with occasional local travel as needed.
Requirements
- Associate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent experience in Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD), Engineering Technology, Architecture, or a related field.
- Experience creating technical drawings using CAD software.
- Ability to learn and effectively utilize proprietary CAD software.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, architectural plans, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to providing exceptional service.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
