Software Developer

• Build and ship new features on the next-generation MOBILETrak platform, contributing to architecture and design decisions as the product matures.
• Support the current production platform - resolve production issues, apply security and dependency updates, and deliver targeted enhancements for existing customers.
• Design and build REST APIs and integrations that connect MOBILETrak to customers' ERP and billing systems.
• Work in Cursor daily and put AI agents to work across coding, refactoring, code review, testing, and documentation - while exercising strong judgment over everything they produce.
• Own features end-to-end: write clean, tested, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
• Translate product requirements into technical solutions and communicate trade-offs clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders., * Agentic development experience - Claude Code or similar agentic coding tools, multi-step agent workflows, MCP integrations, or AI-driven code review and test generation.
• PostgreSQL (especially JSONB and event-style data), Redis, and background job/queue processing.
• Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS deployment experience.
• Front-end fundamentals - JavaScript and Vue.js.
• Multi-tenant SaaS architecture.
• Exposure to barcode/RFID systems, IoT data ingestion, or inventory, warehouse, and logistics software.

• A builder who moves fast - comfortable experimenting, shipping early, and iterating in a small team with shifting priorities.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience with strong PHP/Laravel proficiency - routing, Eloquent, middleware, Blade.
• AI-assisted development as your real production workflow, not a novelty - with clear judgment about when to trust, edit, or reject generated code. We work in Cursor; serious experience with any comparable AI toolchain counts.
• Strong REST API design and development - authentication (including OAuth2/token-based), versioning, request validation, and error handling.
• Solid relational database skills (MySQL/MariaDB), including schema design, migrations, and query optimization.
• Comfortable with third-party integrations across modern (JSON/REST) and legacy (SOAP/XML) formats.
• Proficient with Git and standard PR/code-review workflows; able to step into an established codebase and become productive quickly.
• Based in or able to work full-time on-site at our Phoenix, AZ office.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field - though we will consider candidates without one based on a demonstrated track record of what they've built and shipped.

Field and warehouse crews use it every day - mobile-first, barcode and RFID assisted, tied into their ERP and billing systems in real time. Cursor and AI coding agents are part of our daily workflow - not to replace engineering skill, but to amplify it. You will still own the code, exercise real technical judgment, and know when to trust the AI and when to push back. We geek out over a clever prompt that one-shots a gnarly refactor, a green test suite, and working with AI without letting it fly the plane unsupervised. We are hiring a hands-on developer to work across two efforts: our next-generation MOBILETrak platform in active development, where you will spend the majority of your time, and our current production platform, which you will help keep stable, secure, and improving for existing customers. This is a build-now role for a fast-moving, creative developer - someone who ramps quickly, ships working code in their first weeks, and wants to experiment with modern approaches rather than default to the familiar.
