Job description

  • We are seeking a hands-on Analytics Senior Engineer to bridge the gap between Data Engineering and Business Analytics within the Alight ecosystem. The role focuses on designing robust analytics datasets, mentoring junior engineers, and driving BI solutions with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and governance

  • The ideal candidate will work closely with Data Engineers, BI teams, and Product stakeholders to build robust semantic models, and support enterprise analytics platforms.

  1. Data Modelling
  • Design enterprise-grade data models

  • Own semantic layer architecture

  • Standardize KPIs and business metrics

  • Ensure consistency, reusability, and scalability of data models

  1. Analytics Engineering
  • Work alongside Data Engineers to understand the ETL/ELT pipelines
  1. BI & Reporting Enablement
  • Build and optimize complex reports & dashboards

  • Define data model strategies

  • Handle large-scale analytical workloads

  • Design and optimize datasets for BI tools (AWS QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI)

  • Partner with BI developers to build dashboards, KPIs, and analytical reports

  • Support ad-hoc analytics and business use cases

Requirements

  • Leverage extensive experience (5 to 8 years overall Analytics experience)., + Expert SQL (Redshift or similar MPP systems)

  • Visualization Tools - QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI

  • Database - Redshift, DynamoDB

  • Strong AWS data ecosystem knowledge

  • Data modelling expertise

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills

  • AWS Certification (Cloud Practitioner / Associate)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Soft Skills

  • Ability to translate business requirements into data solutions

  • Strong collaboration across distributed teams (onshore/offshore)

  • Ownership mindset with focus on delivery quality
