Senior Mainframe Developer

Akkodis is seeking a Senior Mainframe Developer for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI (Hybrid). The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise software applications while delivering scalable solutions across the full software development lifecycle., Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications and mainframe solutions using COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, and z/OS technologies. Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable software designs, APIs, and technical solutions. Perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot production issues, and provide application support to ensure system stability and performance. Develop and execute software testing strategies, including application testing, performance testing, and quality assurance activities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile environments to deliver enhancements, integrations, and continuous improvements. Leverage AI-assisted development tools, CI/CD practices, and modern engineering methodologies to improve code quality, productivity, and delivery efficiency.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. 10+ years of IT experience, including 8+ years of hands-on software development and application support experience. Strong expertise in Mainframe technologies including COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, z/OS, TSO/ISPF, batch processing, and application troubleshooting. Experience with Agile development, software testing, REST APIs, GitHub, root cause analysis, and AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and LLM-based coding solutions.
