Job description
In your new role as a Senior Consultant (f/m/d) Grid Integration and Real - Time Simulation, you will lead advanced power system studies that carry a project from conceptual modelling through to real - time validation. You will build and validate detailed simulat ion models for the integration of converter - based generation, storage, and electrolysis into modern grids, moving fluently between phasor - domain, electromagnetic - transient, and real - time hardware - in - the - loop environments. Between customer engagements you w ill present our simulation capabilities to prospective customers, coordinate with transmission system operators and research partners, and review the progress of the studies you oversee against the agreed workplan . To grow our business, you will be actively involved in pre - acquisition and sales activities. You will enlighten the Siemens Energy customer about our products benefits in grid stability and developing the grid of the future .
How You'll Make an Impact
- Executing , leading and e ngaging with customers to deliver grid integration studies for renewable generation, storage systems, electrolyzes , and power - from - shore installations, from feasibility and tender phases through to detailed project execution
- Developing and validating power system models across the full simulation workflow in system dynamics , covering RMS domain stability studies, electromagnetic - transient domain analysis, and real - time digital simulation of converter - based resources and their integration into AC grids
- Supporting the development of detailed RTDS models for power electronic devices, HVDC converters, renewable generation, storage devices, and their integration into AC grids (from conceptual modeling to real - time validation)
- Designing and executing real - time and hardware - in - the - loop test workflows , including power - hardware - in - the - loop configurations, to validate converter controls and simulation results against physical hardware
- Coordinating and aligning with technical experts from intra and inter industry and university stakeholders, within a multi - cultural environment, and interfacing directly with transmission /distribution system operators, research institutes, and customers
- Supporting business development by preparing technical proposals and effort estimates, presenting the capabilities of our products and solutions, and supporting the global execution teams for new engagements
- Developing automation scripts and reusable modelling frameworks that improve the quality, repeatability, and efficiency of our study delivery
- Presenting simulation results and technical findings to customers , working groups, and regulatory authorities, and mentoring junior team members in modelling and real - time simulation methodologies
- Coordination of external partners and sub suppliers
Requirements
- University degree in electrical power engineering (M.Sc. or Ph.D.), with a minimum of six years of combined professional and research experience in power system modelling , grid integration and consulting
- Project based expertise across the full simulation workflow , including RMS tools (DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS®E), electromagnetic - transient tools (PSCAD), and real - time digital simulators (RTDS/RSCAD, OPAL - RT/RT - LAB)
- Demonstrated experience in the development, testing, and validation of grid - forming and grid - following converters, and a strong understanding of their effect on power system stability
- Proven experience with hardware - in - the - loop and power - hardware - in - the - loop testing, including the integration of real - time simulators with power system simulators and converter hardware for closed - loop validation
- Practical experience in the grid integration of renewable generation, storage, and electrolysis or power - to - X installations, including offshore and power - from - shore applications
- Demonstrated successful track record of consulting projects in various simulation domains including Real - time, stakeholder management and business development activities in the power systems simulation market
- Good understanding of German and European grid codes, including fault - ride - through requirements, and reactive power and short - circuit studies, together with proficiency in automation and scripting
- Superior ability to communicate complex technical concepts and business strategies orally and in writing, with proven skills in customer relationship management
- Initiative, analytic, and strategic thinking, customer orientation, and a preference for working within intercultural teams
- Proficient communication skills in German and English
