Job description
We're supporting a leading organisation in the search for an experienced AWS Platform Architect to help shape and evolve their cloud and AI platforms.
This is a key contract role focused on defining AWS architecture standards, driving cloud adoption, and ensuring platforms remain secure, scalable, resilient and cost-effective. You'll work closely with Engineering, Security and Operations teams, acting as the technical authority for cloud architecture and platform strategy., * Define and mature the AWS platform architecture strategy and standards.
- Develop cloud roadmaps, blueprints and architectural patterns.
- Design secure, scalable and resilient cloud platforms.
- Drive governance, compliance and cost optimisation across the AWS estate.
- Support cloud-native and hybrid cloud initiatives.
- Champion Infrastructure as Code, automation and DevOps best practices.
- Support the development of AI and agentic AI platform capabilities.
- Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across teams.
- Evaluate emerging cloud and AI technologies.
Requirements
- Strong AWS architecture experience.
- Deep understanding of cloud networking, security and storage.
- Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation or similar IaC tools.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, containerisation and serverless technologies.
- Experience with CI/CD and deployment tooling including Harness, GitLab and Jenkins.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience working within regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of cloud governance and compliance.
Desirable
- AWS Solutions Architect or similar certification.
- Experience with AWS Bedrock, Anthropic Claude, Generative AI or LLM technologies.
- Experience supporting cloud migration programmes.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks and tooling.
