- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues related to operating systems such as Windows and Linux, including application errors and system crashes.
- Assist users with hardware maintenance, upgrades, and repairs to keep equipment running smoothly.
- Manage user accounts and permissions through Active Directory management, ensuring secure access controls.
- Support system administration tasks including Windows Server administration, VPN setup, firewall configuration, and LAN troubleshooting.
- Utilize help desk tools like BMC Remedy and Jira to log incidents, track progress, and communicate resolutions effectively.
- Conduct hardware support activities such as installing new devices, replacing faulty components, and maintaining computer hardware inventory.
- Provide technical troubleshooting support for network connectivity issues involving LANs or VPNs.
- Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams to maintain security protocols and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with end-users and providing timely solutions to technical challenges.
Requirements
- Proven experience in desktop support or IT support roles with a focus on hardware maintenance and software troubleshooting.
- Strong technical proficiency in operating systems including Windows (supporting Windows environments) and Linux.
- Hands-on experience with system administration tasks such as Active Directory management and Windows Server administration.
- Familiarity with computer management tools like Jira for incident tracking and BMC Remedy for help desk operations.
- Knowledge of network concepts including LAN setup, VPN configuration, firewall management, and basic network troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform hardware support activities such as installing components or replacing devices efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Office Specialist or relevant IT certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
