Job description

We are seeking a Systems Quality Engineer to join the Quality Engineering team within Teradyne's Integrated System Test (IST) Group. In this role, you will help validate complex semiconductor test systems by evaluating integrated hardware, software, embedded, and mechanical components to ensure they meet functional, performance, reliability, and customer quality expectations.

You are a motivated collaborator, effective communicator, and strong problem solver who enjoys working across Software, Hardware, Electrical, Mechanical, Embedded, Manufacturing, and Product Management teams. As Teradyne continues to grow and innovate, you will contribute to system-level validation efforts, support test automation initiatives, and help improve product quality through effective testing and analysis.

It's an exciting time to join Teradyne. As the company continues to grow and meet increasing market demand, the Quality Engineering team plays a critical role in delivering engineering confidence through system-level validation, automation, and data-driven quality engineering practices.

As a Systems Quality Engineer, you will:

System Validation & Integration

  • Execute system-level, integration, and release validation testing to verify hardware, software, embedded, and mechanical components function together as expected in complex test systems.

  • Execute and contribute to the development of test plans, test cases, and test procedures while documenting results, observations, and quality risks.

  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and help isolate issues across software, hardware, firmware, and integrated system components using structured testing and debugging techniques.

  • Collaborate with Software, Hardware, Embedded, Mechanical, and Product teams to understand requirements, validate new functionality, and support release readiness and quality objectives.

  • Contribute to test automation efforts by maintaining or enhancing automated test scripts and tools that improve testing efficiency and test coverage.

  • Analyze test results, identify trends, communicate findings, and help drive issue resolution and product quality improvements.

Requirements

We seek individuals who share our passion and drive. Our dedication to customer success drives us to go the extra mile. If you're ready to join us on this mission, take a closer look at the minimum criteria for the position.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • 2-5 years of experience in software testing, quality engineering, system validation, product testing, or a related technical discipline.

  • Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test procedures for software or integrated systems.

  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging issues in software, hardware, embedded, or integrated system environments.

  • Understanding of software quality engineering principles, testing methodologies, defect management practices, and system-level validation concepts.

  • Familiarity with Windows, Linux, .NET, and modern software development and testing tools.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to investigate complex technical issues.

  • Familiarity with programming or scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, C++, or C# and the ability to use them to support testing, debugging, and validation of complex systems.

  • Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

  • Experience with hardware/software integration, instrumentation, robotics, automation systems, manufacturing systems, semiconductor test equipment, or other complex engineering systems is a plus.
