Job description

We are seeking a DevOps / Kubernetes Engineer to join a small, highly collaborative infrastructure team supporting secure on-premise environments. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with experience administering Linux systems, managing Kubernetes/OpenShift environments, and supporting CI/CD deployment pipelines across multiple security domains. The selected candidate will serve as the team's Kubernetes subject matter expert, helping drive containerization efforts, improve deployment automation, and support the movement of applications between low-side and high-side environments. This individual will work closely with developers, infrastructure administrators, and security teams to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient application deployments. This is a highly visible technical role offering significant ownership and the opportunity to lead Kubernetes initiatives within the organization., * Administer, maintain, and optimize Red Hat OpenShift/Kubernetes environments.

  • Support and manage containerized applications across multiple deployment environments.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines for application deployment and lifecycle management.
  • Support the promotion and deployment of applications from low-side to high-side environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, application, and container orchestration issues.
  • Manage Linux-based systems supporting enterprise applications and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with developers and engineers to streamline deployment processes and operational workflows.
  • Implement automation solutions to increase deployment efficiency, consistency, and reliability.
  • Monitor cluster health, performance, and capacity while ensuring system availability.
  • Apply security updates, patches, and infrastructure enhancements to maintain secure environments.
  • Maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and system configurations.
  • Provide guidance and knowledge transfer to team members on Kubernetes and DevOps best practices.
  • Support virtual machine infrastructure and on-premise hosting environments.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret Clearance
  • 3-5+ years of experience in Systems Administration, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Infrastructure Engineering.
  • Experience administering Kubernetes environments in production.
  • Experience with Red Hat OpenShift.
  • Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience supporting application deployments and release processes.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure, networking, and enterprise system operations.
  • Experience working in secure government or defense environments.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

  • Experience with Ansible, Terraform
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines to help automate and improve performance of deployments
