Are you passionate about Google Cloud, Kubernetes and building scalable cloud platforms? Would you like to help build a next-generation Data Platform from the ground up while working with modern cloud-native technologies?
We are looking for a Senior Platform Cloud Engineer / Tech Lead (m/f/d) to join a newly established Data Platform team. In this role, you will combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership , helping define the cloud strategy and architecture for a modern data platform running on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Working alongside Data Engineers, Software Engineers and Security teams, you will play a key role in building secure, scalable and automated cloud infrastructure that powers large-scale analytics and data-driven products.
Aufgaben
- Design, build and continuously improve a modern Data Platform on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Develop and maintain the GCP Landing Zone, including organisation structures, IAM, networking and governance.
- Build scalable cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / OpenTofu).
- Design and optimise CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments and platform operations.
- Manage containerised workloads using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Docker and Cloud Run.
- Implement observability, monitoring and logging solutions to ensure platform reliability and performance.
- As Tech Lead, provide technical direction, mentor engineers and shape engineering standards without people management responsibilities.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Cloud Platform Engineering, DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Expertise in Terraform or OpenTofu and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience with Docker, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Cloud Run.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, automation and cloud-native engineering practices.
- Experience with BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow or other modern data platform technologies is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of observability, monitoring and FinOps principles.
- Scripting experience with Python or Bash.
- Strong communication skills and an agile, collaborative mindset.
- Fluent English is required; German is beneficial but not essential.
